Also, have any Mormons received the gift of praising God in Holy Love Language? Or received a prophetic message for the church? Or received the gift of healing? Etc... Any of the gifts mentioned in 1 Cor. 12?

Seems like no Mormons have been filled with the Holy Spirit.

IwantU2, Yes I have been filled witht he Holy Spirit & have witnessed others operating in the Holy Spirit in churches.

The Holy Spirit is one Spirit. So the Spirit is the same but the gifts are different. So in the body of Christ there is spiritual unity. God gives us the Holy Spirit when we are born of God. It comes with the inheritance package of being born of God (including everlasting life). Father, Son & Holy Spirit is God (Elohim, Creator).

Shellygirl, Holy Love Language to God. 1 Cor. 14. Follow after love and desire spiritual gifts so that you may prophesy. For those that speak in an unknown language speaks not to men but to God: for man doesn't understand, howbeit, in the spirit they speak mysteries. These mysteries are told to God and is Love language to God. Praying to God in Spirit & Truth, filled with the Holy Spirit is stepping stones in Spiritual growth. Every child born spiritually of God has the Holy Spirit. Praying to God in an unknown language is one of the gifts toward prophesying & other gifts.

To seriously answer your question. Following baptism members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This permits them to have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion.

The church teaches that their are gifts of the spirit. This includes the list in Corinthians. Among them is the gift of tongues. It is considered to have practical applications.

Sometimes it is necessary to communicate the gospel in a language we have not learned. When this happens, the Lord can bless us with the ability to speak that language. Many missionaries have received the gift of tongues when there was a great need for it. For example, Elder Alonzo A. Hinckley was a missionary in Holland who understood and spoke very little Dutch even though he had prayed and studied hard. When he returned to a home he had visited before, a lady opened the door and spoke to him very angrily in Dutch. To his amazement he could understand every word. He felt a strong desire to bear his testimony to her in Dutch. He began to speak, and the words came out very clearly in Dutch. But when he returned to show his mission president that he could speak Dutch, the ability had left him.

Members may receive inspiration or prophecy for their family or their calling. No one can have a prophetic message for the whole church except the Prophet. To do so would cause chaos and dissension.

You have to understand that any fool who thinks he is filled with the holy spirit is filled with the holy spirit. At least there is no way in the world whatsoever to prove hi isn't. If there was a way to prove someone wasn't filled with the holy spirit there would be no religions left anymore.

Let me guess you believe in tongues cause you have seen it and spoke it yourself, but have you ever studied the word of God to see what he said about tongues. Its not a heavenly language, its a forgien language. Why would God want you to witness to him in Spanish. You saying God is lost and needs Jesus Christ to save him. Start in Acts 1 and please look up the words in greek to know the meaning, and then do the who, what, when, and where like you learned in English. Dont go on traditions of men.
