You don't want to do that unless the stuff comes in sticks, and for a very simple reason: butter or margerine "spreads" contain water, and a lot of it. That's why it's so easily spreadable right out of the refrigerator. You add water to a rice krispy treats recipe, and you get soggy rice krispies!
Use sticks. Not spreads.

3 cups puffed corn cereal
2 cups crispy corn and rice cereal
2-1/2 cups tiny pretzel sticks
1-1/2 cups salted mixed nuts or shelled pumpkin seeds

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons chili powder or barbecue spice
1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 cups crunchy cheese-flavor snacks

The simplest rice crispy treats are made by melting chocolate in a pan over hot water (bain marie) and adding a load of rice crispies, then spooning the mixture into cake cases and leave them to set....you can substitute corn flakes for the rice crispies too...
