My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Sure, if you're at least that much overweight. Usually you can lose 2-3 pounds per week, without going on a ridiculous diet.
5 months = almost 22 weeks X 2.5 = 55 pounds. Go for it and have someone to help you stay motivated.

Yeah...yeah, I think it is a healthy and attainable goal. I lost 12 pounds in three weeks and i've been able to keep it off with no problems. Glad to see someone has enough of a brain not to go the quick route. Good luck.

yeah- some good diets to try are vegan diets (eating no animal products), detox diets, which are seven phases long, and can be done for 1-4 weeks (very good for your entire body), or just eating 3 small meals a day, 2 consisting of fruits and vegetables, and at least 1 consisting of whole grains. -Drink plenty of water, and exercise (run, bike, jumprope, Pilates, dancing, kickboxing... whatever)

it depends how much you weigh to start with.. if you're like 200 pounds, than 50 pounds shouldn't be a big deal if you really try..

you can do it in less than that if you take phentermine, but fitness freaks aren't into pills for answers, but this one does it- so it just depends on what you're into. Good luck! ( you could go to phentermine.com and read up on it if you'd like)
