I'm a Christian, so I view Sunday as the first day of the week.

Here's what i got from a site:
"The Bible clearly makes the Sabbath the last day of the week, but does not share how that corresponds to our 7 day week. Yet through extra-biblical sources it is possible to determine that the Sabbath at the time of Christ corresponds to our current 'Saturday.' Therefore it is common Jewish and Christian practice to regard Sunday as the first day of the week (as is also evident from the Portuguese names for the week days). However, the fact that, for example, Russian uses the name "second" for Tuesday, indicates that some nations regard Monday as the first day."
i know it's kinda religious, but i hope it helps. =)

Sunday is the first day of the week. It's the day you gear up and get ready for the rest of the week, the day you lay in bed and read the funnies and sip coffee and cuddle up with someone you love.
Sunday is the day named after the sun, the day the week rises, like the sun, shining and new and a fresh start.

Depends on where and who you are. In someplaces in the world Our Friday is the first day of the weekend. Or maybe if you're in the military one day is the same as another. Your week may start on Thursday. Or you may have a four day work week, and your week starts on Saturday which would be the weekend for others. Hope this helps.

Monday is the first day of the week. Because it says so in the bible, the 7th day he rested. That was Sunday. Thats why church is on sunday and a lot of places are closed Sundays.

Sunday, because Wednesday in German, for example, means "mid-week." If we take Wednesday to be mid-week, then day 1, backwards or forwards, would be Sunday.
