Is some muslim forum sending people here to try and lure christians to your side? :) This is the 2nd time this question came up today at least, with the same kind of intro.

1. Jesus rose 3 days after he died. He's alive, not dead.

2. God is smarter than us and more powerful than us. Even you muslims believe that, right? So why is it so hard for you to believe he can do things we can't? It does not imply he wasn't God, it's an example of God the son manifested in a human body talking to God the father (yet he is same being). As for his faith, he told his disciples that he could call 10,000 angels if he wanted. If his strength were weakening I think that would have been a better response.

Now I have a question for you: If muslims truly believe that God is more powerful than us, why do you think you can understand everything he does? I have no problem realizing that a being smart enough to create a universe will do things I don't understand and make decisions I won't like. But from the muslims I've dealt with I get the picture your god only does things that make sense to the human mind. Should it be that way when our minds are so limited?

For your first question, Jesus did die on the cross. However as the New Testament states, on the third day after Jesus died he was resurrected. Which means that he is no longer dead.
Now your second question. When Jesus made that statement to God, he was not implying that he is not a God, Nor was his faith in God shaken. Jesus is one of the three members of the Godhead, and his faith was just as strong as ever. You need to understand that at that time he had a mortal body, therefor it would have been extremely painful to be hanging from that cross. Do you not think that you would have made the same statement if it was you?

1)Jesus is not dead! He is alive and well! The creator of the universe cannot die-he is Alpha and Omega-the beginning and the end! Jesus said "before Abraham, I AM!"
stating that he and the father are ONE.
He died a physical death on the cross and descended into hell for three days (just as Jonah was in the belly of a whale for 3 days). He conquered death.....and then when he arose from the dead he was seen by 500 witnesses over a period of time.
2)No, Jesus had made it clear several times that he was one with God and that he was the messiah.
God had to turn his back on the sin being committed. I think Jesus was feeling that temporary seperation from the father.

Jesus is Lord and God!

Jesus did indeed die for our sins. He paid the price for our sins that we could never hope to pay.

When Jesus was on the cross, your sins, my sins and all those of the world were placed on Him. He became sin for us. That through His blood we are by faith made righteous, and have hope of everlasting life.

God is a Holy God, and can not look on sin. Jesus had never been spiritually separated from His Father. When Jesus cried out, He felt for the first time what it feels like to be totally separated from God.

(Have you ever seen a small child, when left by his mother for the first time? It is as if his world has been pulled apart.)

When Jesus died, He was placed in a borrowed tomb. His body was there for three days. During those three days, Jesus went to hell and preached to the demons, former heavenly angels turned from God. When He left, He took the keys to hell and death, overcoming thier power forever.

God raised Jesus from the dead, bodily, and He was seen for 50 days in and around Galilee and Jerusalem. He ate and fellowshipped with the disciples and showed His nail scarred hands & feet, and the place in His side where a Roman soldier pierced Him with a spear.

Afterward, He ascended into Heaven and is at the right hand of God the Father, waiting for the command to call God's children home.

Jesus is not dead, for He is risen!

Hallelujah!

As you may expect, I am going to tell you that Jesus is not dead. He did die, but He was risen from the dead on the third day. This is the basis of Christianity. If you read I Corinthians chapter 15 (which is rather long but worth it) Paul gives a good explanation of why the resurrection of Christ is so essential to our faith.

When Jesus took on our sins as He breathed His last, God turned His face from Him. At that moment, Jesus was a man hanging by his hands and feet in terrible physical pain, suffering from the cumulative guilt of all the sins of all of mankind ever to have been or ever to be born. All of that guilt concentrated into one moment, and God had to turn His face from Jesus because God cannot be associated with sin. Jesus, at that moment, felt separation from God the Father for the first and only time in all of eternity. When Jesus died, however, His spirit rose to heaven and He was once again united with His Father. This is not to imply to His faith was not strong, only that as a man He cried out in anguish from the enormity of the emotions He experienced at that moment. I believe the guilt of sin, as much as the physical torture He experienced, killed Jesus. That is a partial explanation of why He died so quickly, when a crucified man often took more than part of a day to die. That and the torture He experienced prior to being put on the cross.

As you have seen from the other posts, Jesus died a physical death, one of agony, but the God Jesus didn't die. As for the forsaken, Jesus died for all of our sins. At that given point, he had the sin of the entire world upon Him and the Father cannot look upon sin, so the Father had to turn away from what He saw.

Jesus rose again on the third day he is not dead he is alive.

When he said my God why has thou forsaken me it was because God can not look on and/or have fellowship with sin, and Jesus became sin for us, so for a brief moment God did have to look away from Jesus. And when that happened Jesus felt it and knew it.

Okay, to start with Jesus is Lord. He died for our sins and rose again the third day... so he isn't dead! He ascended into heaven.
God turned his back on Jesus because God is perfect and can't look at sin, not because Jesus isn't God. His faith was strong throughout.

First of all, Jesus is not dead. He rose on the third day, remember? Or did you just read over the stuff you wanted to use in your question? As for crying out to God, He did not use God; He said father. There is a difference. He also asked His father to forgive them all. Sometimes our faith is strong, but pain is pain. Did you read the part where He asked God that if it was His will to take this from Him? Then He said Thy will be done. It is alright to question our Father in Heaven, it is not to blaspheme Him. Take care of interpretting God's word wrongly and passing it on to others as truth. Just like that JT character.

Q1 answer. Jesus died a physical death, but overcame that death via resurrection. After all, his kingdom was a spiritual/mental kingdom, not a physical kingdom. (See his comments before Pilate).

Q2 Answer; Does it imply that he was not God'? No. The easy way for me to deal with the issue is to think of him as part of a team. (All team members were 'God'). Does it imply that his faith in God was not strong? No.
