I gave a girl a sonnet on Friday but after the weekend she has been ignoring me as if nothing ever happened, the problem is she keeps bumping into me throughout the day. Now I don't know if she shy in such matters or she just hates me. I want to find out. What's the best way to do that? Should I write her a letter apologizing for hurting her feelings or what? I don't know if she found the sonnet cheesy or what but as I was leaving school (boom!) I find her walking beside me. Now I don't know if thats pure coincidence or what but please do answer because I don't know what to do.

If she did not like the sonnet (or the thought) she would NOT be caught dead within 100 yards of you. She obviously knows your schedule. You go guys need to exchange some smiling and blushing!

Good luck.

First, in answering your other question about not caring and doing what you want to do and not caring about what other people think? Remember that answer you just wrote to the girl who thinks she may be ugly and slightly overweight as she described herself? I will tell you this: It is really too bad that you have decided not to care because from this question it sure sounds like you want others to care about your problems. Do unto others...

If you don't care about what others think...why are you asking us all what is our opinion on you and this girl at school. If I followed your own advice I would tell you to not care about it, because I certainly do not care about what you do with your life.

But I am not that type of person.

Depending on your age...

teenage girls have a tendency to tell a boy that they like them in a sideways or even opposite behavior than what they are feeling. It stems from fear of rejection...same as in teenage boys. I believe that her "bumping" in to you should be a signal to you to at least say hi to her and ask her how she liked your sonnet. What did she think of it? Let her take the lead from there. If she continues to shoulder smack, bump in to you in the hall between classes and walking beside you it is a likely indication that she likes you even if just as a friend.

Speak and let her know you have vocal chords as well as those written words, young Shakespeare!

Perhaps she just hasn't figured out what to say to you yet...Ask her- the next time she 'appears' next to you...say... I'm sorry if I embarrassed you with that sonnet...did you think it was really corny?

Just be brave and ask her. How hard is it to say, "Did you like my sonnet?"

Speak to her. Stop putting things in writing.
