Despite popular belief, Hinduism is a monotheistic religion, their many gods represent one divine lifeforce known as Brahman. They believe Brahman is not a man in the sky, but rather that it exists inside each living thing. The goal of hinduism is to achieve Mokksha, or the seeing of Brahman, and be able to see Brahman in everything. The three main gods represent the actions of Brahman as a creator, preserver, and destroyer. They are Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. They believe that Vishnu returns to earth in avatar form when humanity is in a time of great need. They also believe that the world was not created or destroyed, but rather that it is in a state of constant flux of being destroyed and recreated.
