I have met this english gentlemen. To set up the second date, it took painfully long time. When he asked me to meet again, I told him that I was happy to meet except such and such dates which were during the week (due to myself being a bit timid or having a habit of not giving the instant answers to men), then he replied much later asking weekend day. We finally met for a drink or two then had a really pleasant time. He walked me home (before midnight on weekend night!) but looked like he also wanted a bit more than that.

But I got home, and the next day......I smsed if he wanted to have a tea with me....he replied...he couldn't but hoped to see me very soon again.

I think he's very reserved and shy but seems like a nice person and I really like him. But I don't understand this kind of approach. Do I just have to wait until he contacts me again? Are english men usually like that? Didn't I show enough interest toward him? What shall I do?

I know nothing about English men; I suggest you wait and see if he calls you again. If and when he calls and you accept the date ask him all the questions you care to ask him.. you will have his undivided attention. As an English gentleman he will either answer them or never call again. Maybe that wouldn't be bad either.

Oh boy.......go ahead and call, and if you are timid enough to know that you hesitate to answer a man quickly....then what do you expect? Take a chance, call him.
