My 16-year old sister recently passed away from a heart condition. Now every time my baby daughter coughs or sneezes I'm ready to take her to the hospital. How can I be mindful of her help without being neurotic? It's driving me and my husband crazy that I freak out over every little cough or every cry.

Trust me after this happens you are going to be paranoid and look for anything out of the norm. When you start to do this catch yourself and calmly tell yourself it is probably a cold or an allergy if she isn't better in the morning I will call teh doctor then give her some tylenol or decongestant and wait. I had a son that died at 11 months not from illness but in a car accident. I also did the same thing with my other kids afraid I would loose them as well until my mother told me I was going to turn my normal happy healthy kids into hypochondriacs! You will always worry a little more now and be more observant but unless it is a seriously high fever or other emergency wait 24 hours then call the doctor.

The death of a loved one is a feeling that will never go away and putting all your emotions on your younger daughter can and will affect your relationship with her. If you are too over protective your daughter may think that you don't trust her. Take her to daily checkups with her doctor. I'm sure shes very healthy and will be.

I have a friend whose mother is kind of overprotective because of a death of one of her children and it is sad to see that she won't let her child grow up. You have to be mindful that in spite of what has happened (which I know was very hurtful and still is), you must realize it was not your fault. It isn't your fault. It will drive people insane and they will smile and say its alright, but you will be hurting yourself in the end because of the overprotectiveness. When your child gets older, you want her or him to have happy memories of your protection and love, not anger, and lost hope driving you to distraction. We can not change the past, but you can think positive for your child's future...okay?

Your daughter will rebel eventually if you smother her.
Find some other ways to channel your loving heart for example
if you have some time then volunteer to the elderly, the orphans or the homeless.

First of all this is a perfectly normal reaction...the thought of losing another that you love, especially your own baby is a horrifying thought.
My advice is to trust in God and understand that He is in control. You cannot control what is to be played out in life. Trust in Him, follow Him and have faith in His grand plan!

i do no longer think of it has thoroughly sucked. there have been some stable rappers because of the fact then, although none of them have come on the brink of touching Tupac. I nevertheless rejoice with the rhymes, yet I do pass over him. Soulja boy does suck, I agree.

perhaps you should seek professional help, first to help you heal from the loss of your sister and then help you deal with currant things with your daughter.
