i am a former Hospital corpsman. The school it self is 14 wks long. but if there is not a class ready to start when he gets there it could be longer. after this school he might get the chance to go to Field medical school that is 8 wks long and it is for being a corpsman for the USMC.

much of HM A school is now computer based and self paced, but he must complete it within 13 weeks. he can complete it sooner if he is sufficently motivated. Then he will most likely go on to a C school, those are held in various locations across the continent, with Norfolk and San Diego being two of the big ones.

Being male, his chances of being sent to FMSS( Green side to be a corpsman with a Marine unit) is very high.

Well, if you want to be a "corpseman" you might want to go somehwere where there are a lot of angry bearded men with AK-47's.

lol.

Being a "corpsman" though, well, I couldn't tell you...

The exact number of training days should be in his orders, so if you can get a hold of a copy of those then you can find out. Just remember, training days do NOT include weekends or holidays, so those days must be added on to the total number of training days for you to determine how long he will be gone.
