Sure if you watch it all of the time and take no time for God then certainly you have at least become a slave to it.

Yes, a television could be an idol if a person gives up everything else to watch it all the time. But if they spend proper time in their worship of their god, it shouldn't be a problem. It's when it gets to obsessive excess that it could be considered idolatry!

Yes, very much many people change not only there fashion but some base their lives on it. Many people have to be at home like at the time some new hott show is on to catch it and they can't be bothered. Or any of the other bad habits people take on that take away from living as holy as they can or that makes them want to be more like the world.

Nothing can be an idol, unless you make it one. Is the television worshiped in the place of God? Anything can be an idol, if placed above God.

Anything that you put before God is an idol. It could be sex, drugs, food, alcohol, money, TV, anything. If you are asking if it is OK to watch TV, then I think that as long as you don't let it rule your life, you're OK, and if you're asking if it is OK to watch religious programming instead of going to church , I think as long as you are worshiping God and not the person on TV then it is OK. My grandmother was home bound for several years before she passed away and since she couldn't attend church anymore, she always watched it on TV.

I'd say yes to this since in some ways, TV has replaced religion and to some become more important than it. But I also raise the question, isn't praying to statutes of saints idolatry also?

Anything that you put your trust in above God is considered an idol. Money, power, status, etc.
