I wonder if maybe the medication you are on is causing your depression to worsen, they can do that sometimes. you should talk to whomever prescribed them and keep asking until someone helps you. Also check out bipolar disorder

Shanette. I think you would benefit from meeting like mind people. Are there no groups you could join? Ask your CPN to find out for you.

You will find hope and not dispair by talking to other folk who suffer from the same condition and who will understand how you feel. Then gradually you will feel part of the community again and soon find that you are able to go out into the big wide world once more. You need to take control of your life again and with the help of others this will be possible for you to achieve.

Good luck and no more talk about being 6 feet under please. It's too cold anyway.

You know what stands out here, I think that the only one not listening is yourself ....... there are people out there trying to help but you can't see it ..... but I can truly appreciate that doesn't make you feel any the better for it. My advice? There is no magic answer to your depression ... there are no magic wands that will switch all your lights on overnight ...... and the real answer lies within you and only you. Believe me, I have been there. The first thing you must do is to accept how you feel, truly accept I mean ... face it head on and accept it as normal for now .... laugh at it if you have to, even play with your erratic emotions. Then, tell yourself that you refuse to be sucked in any more .... come to terms with the blackness, the dull days ... the desire to never get out of bed again ... tell yourself that today there is going to be a new you ..... just a little bit at a time ... recovery is like that, a little bit at a time ... almost imperceptable at times .... keep moving forward inch by inch ..... smile a bit more every day .... keep the tears for pleasure instead. Take comfort in simple things ... like the blue sky, the pleasure of birdsong, children laughing, rain on your face, the beauty of music and everything else around you ..... small steps will lead to a better feeling .... remember once you felt great, and inside you are the same person ... just retrain yourself in pleasure as that is what you are lacking .... it will take time but be worth it. Have a happy recovery!

Talking helps a lot of people. Probably your last counselor was not a very good one. Talking helps, dwelling does not. Talking helps you focus your feelings and get some ideas on how to fix it, or give the listener some ideas on some advice to give. A lot of problems can be solved just by talking through them. But if your counselor is just letting you have a "vent session" every week, then they aren't doing you any good. A good counselor knows how to direct the conversation so that it can help you.

You did okay in the spelling department, a few errors but who does make them. I take pills for depression and go to a shrink to get my renewals or my prescription. You need to find a shrink that you can have rapport with. I was at a VA medical center and the shrink had me stand naked in front of him while he talked into his recording device. And of course he changed the medications the other shrink had me on. My medical is free being a veteran, but I think it is a waste of tax payers money going to see most of the shrink. Then when I get one I like they move on to a different center. I know how you feel and it sucks. I just have a beer when I feel like it and say to heck with them.

Help is a Ruler.

If they (whoever they may be?) want to help you they will try to rule your life.

If they want to rule you they will measure you (put a label on you).

Lots of people have got rain coming through their roofs and live in sheds and cars. Got to fix the hole. Haven't got time to be depressed.

Have you paid your Broadband licence and your electricty bill?

PS: Any drug that is long lasting and does not wear off the following day is addictive. Maybe, you like the licenced drugs. I think they suck!

What about your family/friends? You need a network of people who you can count on for support. You also need to be on medication that is actually helping you. If you feel yourself getting depressed and are on medication that isn't working, than you need to get on something else.

Above all, you need yourSELF for support.

Don't give up on professional help. You are not the only person who has these symptoms believe me. Also try my favorite self help group Recovery-Inc. www.recovery-inc.org. This has helped me a lot and it can help you too.
