Yes.I believe that to be true because a womens sexual sin may 'show up' in the form of a baby. A man can go about his way and never get caught so to speak, unless he admits to it or stays with the female who he impregnated. This is not to say that every church in the world treats people differently, but in general, there is a difference between the treatment of the two sexes. In respect to my pastor at my particular church, men are treated the same as the women!

Well in my opinion, which is probably biased because I was raised in the church and fell away from that a few years ago.

But here it is.

I think because the bible is mainly written in the POV of a male. There are no books written in the eyes of a chick. I think men in general in society back in the day and still in some extent now, are regarded as the higher sex. I think that alot of societies think, "men will be men" meaning they will always have a higher sexual craving tham women. Not that this is true but its an excuse that allows men to linger into another romance or affair that when a women would do it, it looks like she is a whore. Men are just giving into their internal sexual nature and women are whores according to the church I was raised at.

A friend was sexually assualted by a man of the church and he was shaken a finger at and my friend was basically osticized (sp) because she came out with it and pressed charges. He was lured by her. Sick world... sad religion.

I just think that in general the church has fallen from alot of things. Oh well my opinion is all.

As far as my experience goes this is not the case in the modern Christian churches.

However, the church has a long history of this attitude toward women. As always, justified by a bizzarre interpretation of scripture.

e.g. it was Eve who took the first bite of the apple, and then convinced Adam to do the same, "leading the man into sin..." as they thought of it in the dark ages.

Adam is not outdone in that story. I think it's hysterically funny that when the chips are down, Adam passes the buck.
When god comes into the garden and asks Adam "Did you eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge that I told you not to?" What does Adam do? He BLAMES EVE AND GOD! "The woman whom you made for me gave me the apple, and I ate..."

All you have to do is watch a Simpson's episode and hear Bart proclaim "I didn't do it." to find this funny.

Anyway, yeah so this thing against women got really bad in the dark ages, and women were persecuted and killed by the tens of thousands simply because of the wretched way in which they brought down man with sin.

Pretty sick stuff...

Sexual orientation has shown to be a mixture of genetic and environmental factors. Now the important reason that 'selection' has change into such an situation interior the non secular debate with regards to sexuality is that for some thing to be sinful it must be chosen. even if it truly is not a call then it makes as a lot experience as God condemning someone for the colour of their epidermis. the important reason homosexuality is condemned is a lot an analogous reason masturbation is condemned. at the same time as the as against were initially written, it changed into throughout a time at the same time as the Jewish human beings needed toddlers. interior the historic international, homosexuality wasn't uncommon and it wasn't condemned in maximum civilizations. even with the indisputable fact that the end results of such events produce no toddlers. The Jewish human beings on the time understood that semen changed into necessary to produce toddlers, and it grew to change into sacred to them in that to waste seed changed into to change into an abomination. Now the Jews cared about toddlers because they had to strengthen the inhabitants. more advantageous human beings ability more advantageous means proper? properly that changed into the unique purpose behind it. there are a approach of alternative as against in Corinthians that condemn beef, and shellfish. Why? because they were risky to eat on the time. Now, it truly is merely an previous style piece of. . . *ahem* Now as to why human beings care a lot about homosexuality yet no longer shellfish at the same time as they are both abominations and in reality some as against aside interior the forged e book. human beings take care of an same reason they dislike go dressers that are immediately, an analogous reason calling a collection a boys 'sissy' is an insult. that's an innate sexism hostile to women. For a guy to act female is inaccurate, to be talked about as female an insult, to be some thing linked as a lady, or below a lady is considered an insult. it truly is an underlying tone of sexism at its ultimate in present day society.

Which church? I am Catholic and women are treated the same as men for any given sin.

While that may have been your experience, your generaliztion is much to broad to be absolutely accurate. The church I attend holds both men and women equally accountable for sexual sin.

YES. Women are put in the precarious position by the church of either having to be virgins or whores. Men are not.

In most religious settings, women are treated inferior to men. It's always "more wrong" for the woman. Nice, huh?
