please explain your experience. Or if you have witnessed it operating in the Mormon church? What did you witness?

I would like to know, because Mormons say they believe in the same spiritual gifts recorded in the bible (1 Cor. 12) and operate in them.

It doesn't seem that any Mormons have personally experienced God's spiritual gifts from biblical examples.

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS

93:29 Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be.

it seems that man is NOT a created being in LDS Teachings

33 For man is spirit. The elements are eternal, and spirit and element, inseparably connected, receive a fulness of joy;

"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!!! . . . We have imagined that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea and take away the veil, so that you may see" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345

God has always been God (Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 57:15)

"The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's" (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22. Compare with Alma 18:26-27; 22:9-10)

God is a spirit without flesh and bones (John 4:24; Luke 24:39)

Jesus is the literal spirit-brother of Lucifer, a creation. (Gospel Through the Ages, p. 15)

Hinckley says Mormons Believe in a
Different Jesus

"In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints 'do not believe in the traditional Christ.' 'No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages.'" (LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p.7 )

Jn 8:24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be , you will indeed die in your sins."

Question if the elements are eternal and God was once a man like us, then how can the LDS god be the creator. it seems that the LDS god is not all powerfull if he was a man like us at one time. where did he come from then, who created your LDS god if he was a man like us. Before the LDS god was a god who was his god. it had to have a beginning.

The bible says Jesus created ALL things from NOTHING

Jn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Jn 1:2 He was with God in the beginning. Jn 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Col 1:16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

Col 1:17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

D&C 131:7 There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes;
8 We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified we shall see that it is all matter.

So according to LDS teaching God did NOT create the world ex nihilo rather, God had materials to organizethe world out of chaos--chaotic matter. The elements had an existence from the time God had.

Joseph Smith, Teachings of the prophet Joseph smith, comp. Joseph Fielding Smith ( Salt Lake City: Deseret Book, 1976),p. 351.

What does the word of God say.
NIV
1Ti 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
2Ti 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
1Co 4:6 Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.
Jude 1:3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.

You as a mormon have to answer this question. Who will you believe. The bibles clear teaching That Jesus is the creator and had NO beginning and no ending. or

the LDS teachings, god was once a man like we are now. therefore the LDS god had a beginning and is NOT the creator.

Jesus loves you and wants you to know the truth. read your own teachings

Jn 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Absolutely. I received a priesthood blessing when I was two years old. I was born with a heart defect that required surgery. Methods for performing this procedure were primitive, and there was a chance I would not survive. The surgery went well, obviously, as I am still here. The surgeon said that they hoped the surgical correction would grow with me as I got bigger, but it was likely I would need two or three additional surgeries by the time I was fully grown. As it turns out, I have not had any more surgeries.

My own son was born three months premature, and had several problems at birth. I gave him a priesthood blessing and he healed up very well. It was predicted by doctors that he would have brain damage, lung problems, and heart problems. He almost even needed to have an emergency surgery in the NICU. Initially we didn't even know if he would survive. Today he is four years old and is perfectly healthy. In fact, even when he was two years old his pediatrician was surprised that he was a preemie; he didn't show any signs of premature birth.

Several 19-year-old missionaries are sent around the world to teach the Gospel. Many of these have to teach the Gospel in languages with which they are not familiar. They receive 8 weeks of education in this language before entering the foreign land. The Spirit helps these missionaries learn the language very quickly. On my mission I had a branch president who spoke Spanish. One day he received a call from the temple president, and they had a conversation related to the new temple hours. My branch president told me this entire conversation was in Spanish. About a week later, we both attended a regional conference and had a chance to meet the temple president. He was surprised to see the temple president wearing headphones at the conference (he required a translator because he didn't speak Spanish).

Bishops are given the spirit of discernment, and when interviewing a member of the Church for a temple recommend, they are often impressed by the Spirit to know if an individual is really worthy or not. Spencer W. Kimball relates such an experience that he had as a bishop in his book, The Miracle of Forgiveness.

Miracles still happen today, but faith precedes the miracle.

The Holy Ghost reveals many things to those who will receive it. I am not all that familiar with the Bible as I have not read it all yet and have not studied and pondered it. Nor have I prayed about every portion of it to know that is is as you say it is. I am sure that my interpretation of many passages in the Bible are quite different from yours. I will not explain my position nor try to change yours...

The spirit of contention comes from Satan... if you wish to listen to the Holy Ghost then you must avoid the spirit of contention...

you must calmly read, ponder and pray.. and the Holy Ghost will reveal to your mind many things that you did not understand before.

I think if you take the second "m" out of Mormon and the letter "i" out of their favorite angel, Moroni, you've summed up what Mormons are all about.
