How quickly we all forget 9/11.I am from NYC.Lost people on that day,as did everyone I know.It is extremely hurtful to come on this board and see people attacking the Pope. He's a hero in my eyes, and do you know why?Because he actually said something, about these horrible Muslims. You people keep going on about ,Oh go and read the Koran,or enter a mosque.Have you ever had to live in a neighborhood with these creeps?Do you know how they hate all Americans?Wake up folks.Oh and if you get nasty,I don't care if I delete my question.God Bless all the fallen heroes of 9/11.Stop defiling their memory ,by defending these pigs.

Good for you, sweetie. In all the Muslim "anger," have you heard a single Muslim actually deny that what the Pope quoted (even though he specifically said the quotation did not represent his own opinion) was absolutely true? Islam IS evil and inhuman! They aren't angry because the Pope lied about Islam--they're angry because he told the truth! And so they protest by burning churches and shooting nuns. Is that supposed to prove that Islam is peaceful and humane?

Pope Benedict XVI is blessed with his own spiritual gifts. Among these is his historical understandings, steadiness on maintaining moral values, and he's abundantly good at telling the truth even in the face of oppression.
He's got a very different charisma from John Paul II (we luv u), but none the less, he is spiritually blessed. I do hope that in his praying he is receiving answers so he can direct his flock in line with God's plan. God always has a plan for us.
PS: A old Catholic tradition is to say: 1 "Our Father", 3 "Hail Mary's" , 1 "Our Father", 1 "Glory Be", and 1 "Our lady of Fatima" for the Pope so he can lean his flock .

Yea,
The funny thing is that they backed up the pope's statements by threatining the Vatican.
"If you don't apologize for calling us evil, we will blow up the Vatican"
DUH...Is there any more proof needed that these people are evil and insane?
**Lawerence,
That is a great summarization of the whole thing. Keep the faith and don't let the PC dragon change your thinking. You are right on.

I feel the same way. I'm tired of all their complaints. Could they scream and complain in their own countries....not a chance. So why do we put up with it?
