I had an '88 Sentra. The timing belt broke shortly after I bought it which resulted in three bent valves. After that I changed the belt often (as you should ASAP). Other than that the damn thing was virtually bullet-proof. I must have driven the thing for 80,000 miles and never did anything other than routine maintenance.
It was a box, but I wish I'd never sold it.

i wish i never had it in a accident.... i HAD..... a 87 nissan sentra, that motor wasnt half bad at all. that thing had about a lil more than 170,000 and still ran like a champ. yes it is practically bullet proof, just remember to do ur check ups and stuff and it should run like a good car should run. the only thing that bugged me about my car was my generator, the last generator i put on that thing was pretty damn good. whenever i stepped on it, the car would respond quickly and you could hear the generator kick in. also the car, since it has some pretty good metal on the body, has pretty good in body wise. and trust me.... i know.... i got hit by this honda pilot on the front side of the driver side. the thing was totally messed up from the axle and the tire was bent in, but the only thing that happend to me was a bruise on my knee. just remember to put on ur seat belt on all times. trust me, its worth it, saved my @$$ anyways lol. btw the car can do some pretty good drifting, lol. and yes it is a very trusty car
