Didn't school just start? It takes kindergarten age a while to get used to the school setting.
Why would you assume he is lazy? Have you asked him why he doesn't work? You can go to school and sit with him once or twice a week. Praise anything he brings home. Make reporting his day a big happy time.
If he is having a problem, his teacher should be full of suggestions for you? If she is an experienced teacher she knows that no matter what parents do a kid will act how he acts in school. I know I taught 35 yrs. I never whined to parents. Give him some more time to get used to it.
