Foil is made from whatever material it's a foil-form of....aluminum, tin, etc. Aluminum foil is made from aluminum. They take sheets of aluminum, and repeatedly run them between very large, very heavy rollers, making them thinner and thinner, until they end up with the foil.

Cheap generic foil is rolled thinner than the heavy-duty stuff, that's the only difference!

it is made from aluminum, they take big rolls of the stuff and put it through heavy rollers witch thins it out until its thin enough to be foil
