Can the Navi system for and 05 Armda play DVD's?

Yes it can but only in neutral ingnition on, brake on. There might be a way to make it work while driving. But no Nissan Tech Can tell you how.

most navigation systems do play DVDs. check your owners manual

from what ive read nissan navi systems are DVD based
