yes - I'd have to agree. An apology is the best gift you can give. AFTER that, if you'd like to still get her something...something EXTREMELY simple is best. One flower...a candy bar (her fav) Not about the $$$. ...something like that.

Honestly I would rather have an "I'm Sorry" Gifts don't really do it for me.
