ARONIA BERRY BREAD
· 2 cups Flour
· 1 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
· 1 teaspoon Salt
· 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
· 1 Egg
· 1/8 cup Shortening
· 3/4 cup Orange juice
· 1 cup Sugar
· 1 cup aroniaberries
· 1 cup Nuts
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. In blender, combine egg, shortening, orange juice, and sugar. Add aroniaberries & nuts and chop briefly. Empty into flour mixture. Mix by hand until moistened. Bake in a greased 9x5 pan at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes.

Juice from these berries is astringent and not sweet, but high in Vitamin C and antioxidants, and the berries can be used to make juice, wine, and jam after cooking. It is also used as a soft drink flavoring.

do you mean choke cherries.....this is from SD best pheasant hunting in USA make a sauce with 3 cups choke cherries and 2 cups brown sugar i lemon and for your liquid use 3 cups orange juice cook it all together until it makes a nice thick syrup now you will cook a pheasant until 1/2 done and cover with sauce and finish baking until tender......i found you can use Cornish hens but add sauce when starting the hens they do not require as long a cooking time...
