Something that would raising money for the community and benefit it. That wouldn't cost a lot of money to organize.

Raffle -
The selling of tickets to multiple individuals for a prize valued at far more than the individual ticket price. Many times the raffle prize is donated by a local business. Anything can be raffled. From a quilt, to a side of beef, to a new car.

Auction-
Again, items for auction are often donated by local businesses. The auction can be handled like a regular auction with an auctioneer or can be a silent auction where people write their bids down on a paper displayed with the item. After a specified period of time the papers are collected and the high bidders win the items.

Work-
Work by a club or group to raise money usually takes on the form of a car wash or mowing lawns, raking leaves etc.

Sales-
Groups often raise money by selling things. There are many companies that work with non-profits and schools to provide items to sell. Candy, candles, cookie dough, frozen pizzas, gift items, calendars are some of the more common items sold.

Discount card-
There are companies that print discount cards that your group then sells for a split of the profit. The discounts are from area merchants who make the offers on the cards as a way to drum up business.

Do a search for fund raisers on the internet and I'm sure you will have no trouble finding a lot of ideas.

A neighborhood yard sale, where you ask for items to be donated.
Bake sale....cake walk...raffles....ask a store to donate items to auction off.
Hold lawn mower races and charge a small entry fee.
Hold a fall festival in the neighborhood, ask stores for donated items, use bales of hay for decorating.....have kiddy games that cost 25 cents each to play.
