buy 'em..it's cheaper and easier. PETSMART, PETCO, WALMART, OR ANY OTHER LOCAL PET STORE OR GROOMING SALON. Some salons also offer homemade treats.

Carrots. You can buy a heck of a lot of carrots for the price of the ingredients of any treats your want to make. And horses all feel that more treats are better treats. Carrots are the perfect horse treat: you don't have to waste time preparing them, they aren't sticky or crumbly, they're the perfect shape for in-hand feeding, they're healthy for your horse, they're inexpensive, and horses love 'em. If you want to get fancy, the other best treat is called an apple, and if you take a few seconds to cut it up into slices, it's perfect. And the nice thing about carrots and apples is if you get really hungry, you can eat them too.

Some of the best dog recipes I've found I discovered on these three websites:
http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/recipe_dogbiscuit.htm
http://www.twodogpress.com/dogfood.html
http://www.advantage-dog.com/Recipes/Recipes.htm
I recommend the Poodle Pasta. Have fun pampering him with these treats - he'll love them.

This isn't to healthy so if this is your prized show dog it's not for you. cook up some bacon. now use some store bought or homemade pie crust if you prefer. soak the uncooked crust in the bacon grease for 30 second and rap it around a regular slice of bacon. cook for 10 minutes on a broiler and serve after 5 minutes of cooling or anytime they last around 3 days
