Joining Girls Scout is not free, You have to pay the yearly dues, the uniform, and any trips taken. The dues all depend on what state you are living in. My 2 sons are in Boy Scouts and we've had to pay the dues, their uniforms, and all trips they had to go on. It is a very good and rewarding experience for young kids to be in. I suggest it to all parents and if you cannot pay the fees up front, they will let you pay slowly but you still have to buy the uniforms.

To be a Girl Scout, it costs $10. This is the yearly registration fee that every Girl Scout pays to GSUSA.
To be a member of a troop, you will be asked to pay dues and the amount is decided on by the leaders of your troop. There are other optional expenses like a uniform, books, trips, etc. Like others mentioned, financial aid is available for all of these expenses. Contact your local council for more info on financial aid.

If you don't have any money, it is absolutely free! It's a great organization. Just call the council and let them know you want to be a Girl Scout, but you don't have any money. They'll take care of you!

Go to http://www.girlscouts.org/ If you are unable to pay your troops dues, they will pay them for you. I am a Brownie leader and out side of the vest the girls pay $50 a year and that covers all their patches, field trips, snacks, craft supplies etc.

You pay your yearly dues, which for my daughter is $20.00. Then if you go on trips, there is usually a fee for that, but not much.

For my daughter, it's $10.00 to join & $20.00 fee for field trips & craft projects.

Nothing, it is free if you can't afford it......hence fundraisers like the cookies we all know.
But if you pay your own fee it is very minimal probably about 15 dollars a year.
