Take cold tablets. Generic brands are just as good as name brand. They will take care of all those nasties for you.

Blockage of the sinuses and/or infection in them is the most commmon cause of a post nasal drip. Since you tell me that your sinuses are fine and that there is no infection, let me assume that this has been confirmed by an ENT specialist after examining your nose with an endoscope.
If you have not seen a specialist yet, please remember that the only symptom of a chronic sinusitis may be a post nasal drip. He may examine your nose with an endoscope and may ask for a CT scan of the sinuses. Antibiotics and or nasal sprays are usually tried out initially. I have seen people with no trouble with their sinuses getting similar symptoms, but it is rare and I guess they just produce excessive mucus. You dont smoke or suffer from hayfever/ tonsillitis, I guess, which can make symptoms worse.

You can try a bunch of over the counter stuff, home remedies and the like, but if this is a constant problem, I would see an allergist or at least your family doctor. If you don't want to do that, try otc antihistimines. They work fairly well. Keep your bedroom dusted and vacuumed - if it's dusty that may be your problem.

Sounds like your immune system is not up to scratch. Dairy products exacerbate the production of mucous, try to avoid these late in the evening. Water is a great healer, and rids the body of unwanted toxins, you should be drinking at least 2 litres of still mineral water per day.

Avoid Aspartame and caffeine. I no longer use drugs to aid in any condition, preferring to use naturals. I work with a research and development company and can supply you with scientific backed information if you wish.

Take a antihistamine every day. It won't hurt. If you find its drying you out , then take a antihistamine with a decongestant in it.
