Technical Service Bulletins are issued from the parent company to their own service departments regarding issues such as mechanical failures, possible problem areas and known fixes. Usually the service dept will do any TSB repair on your vehicle free under warranty, many even if it is not. A recall is similar except that the company formally requests all cars involved with the recall return to service dept for free repairs or replacement components. Any TSB concerning safety or emissions issues are usually fixed free of charge when you have your vehicle in service. Many TSB programs are unknown to the public and are not volunteered to the car owner unless you have complained about a specfic problem covered by a TSB. Many TSB's are simply for the techs when attempting to diagnois a particular problem.
It's a strange world we live in, eh?

Technical service bullitens are NOT recalls. They are basic repair procedure for a common problem found in some (but not all) vehicles of a specific model. Typically if something is a safety issue, they make it a recall.

There was a TSB on my Altima,
it was something that was covered under my 3/36 warranty.

There was also a TSB on my hubbys truck,
it was something that was no longer covered because his warranty expired.

TSBs are notification to the dealers on how to address complaints from owners where the factory has a repair procedure outlined.
Recalls are for safety problems and require notification.
If your truck is doing something that is covered by a TSB they should fix it. Most of them have ranges of serial numbers of affected vehicles. See if yours is included.

Tech bulletins pulled up on your computer might not even apply to your truck. Some are Vin# specific like the radio reception problem Titans had. That problem was fixed June 2005 when the better radio went into the truck on assembly. So if you are worried take it to the dealer. If the truck is out of warranty 3/36 bumper to bumper 5/50 power train and 8/80 emission controls,If out of warranty technical bulletins won't fix your truck for free Just hope you have extended warranty "Nissan security plus Gold" is the best.
