While my son uses stuff from doctors it was recently that we did the simplest of things. For showers use only products that are fragrance free and clear. Also immediately, after the shower prior to drying put a very thin layer of vaseline over affected areas. This seals in moisture. My son has been battling eczema since he was 2 years old. He is now 11 and spent 1 week in the hospital due to it. While the treatment for it require many things. This was one of the simplest actions we could do upon his return that has worked marvelously and which we had never ever tried. Also moisture rich lotions like Eucerin are really concentrated and work well.

I don't know if there is anything. My sister had it as a kid and we took he to specialists all over the country. It seems like an old farming community doctor fianlly did something for her that helped more than what the specialists did. If it is too bad better make an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. If they can not figure it out no one probably can.

I find mild, topical cortizone creams work well. I usually cover the affected areas with that, and then some of George's cream. You can get it at any drug store, it has no unneccessary ingredients (ie: color, scents, etc) and it is very thick and effective. It is not, however, a very nice cream. it does leave a slightly oily feel to the skin, and the smell isn't great. but it works for me!

I do not have eczema but my kids do.I realise that it flares up while in the UK but when we go to the caribbean it subsides and because the caribbean people believe in herbal stuff I was encouraged by my mom to try something we call "water grass".By its name it grows near fresh running water and is more a vine.Boiled it and bathed my kids in it for 3 days and it was gone.No eczema problems for 2 weeks.

Aveeno Oatmeal products. I've used the Baby Lotion for my daughter when she gets "scratchy". We also use the body wash and it helps a lot. They have a huge product line now including moisturisers, cleansers and even oatmeal baths.

Probably Eurax lotion or cream would be best. You don't have to go to the doctor for this, you can buy it over the counter in the chemist.

david belamy swore that putting some porrage oats into tights (No, there isn't a punch line coming) then allowing the tights to soak in a bath, before getting in yourself worked a treat for his kids. I told my sis this and she tired it with her kids and it seemed to help.
