She bathes everyday but the question is---does she use soap? Also it could be her clothes that are causing her to smell. Are you using a strong enough detergent? If not the natural body oder (that everyone of all ages has) could stick around and build up and that might be what you're smelling. If it's a "musky" smell as you describe it then it's probably something with showering and clean clothes because B.O. is more of an oniony smell..not musky.

Some girls gain body odors faster that others, don't be worried just make sure she is wearing deodorant. I am fourteen and I don't have strong body odors. Like I said, some girls gain body odors faster. You should also check for underarm hair because believe it or not, she might need a mild shave.

I think that everyone is different. My sister always had body odour and my mom constantly had to make sure she put on deodorant even at a young age. I don't have body odor, and wouldn't even have to wear deodorant (but I do) if I didn't want to. Your daughter could also be more active causing her to sweat more?

Kids are growing up so much faster than when I was growing up. Everything seems to happen so much faster...arm, leg, hair, musty odor under the arms, etc. I don't have an answer as to why but I do know it is very common these days, my nephew gets the under arm odor and he is 4.

I'm no MD, but some people just have body odor. Also, it is known by many that many metabolic disorders can cause strange body odors. (ex. diabetes, PKU, MSUD,......there are lots of metabolic disorders,(my son has one, diagnosed through newborn screening at birth). Don't mean to scare you, but mention the odor to her doctor, so maybe he can test for or rule out one of those things.

most kids her age only bathe every other day. Some girls are growing up faster now a days. she may just be getting there quicker than most girls. I would have her start to wear deoderant now. But other than that, maybe you should see a pediatrition, but try as hard as possible to avoid embarrassment or awkwardness for her.

I have smelled adults that are the same way and they shower every day. I think your doctor can probably answer your question best, rather her doctor. What we eat can also affect how we smell too.
