I had the same problem and I got a Capital One Card. They give you a very small credit line, like $200, and up it accordingly every six months depending on your payments. This one is good because you get 0% APR for the first year so the more time you are able to pay it off, the better it looks on your credit report.

it really depends on what your definition of 'bad' means.
if your talking the 500 range, you going to have to pay fees, but if you get a great card, like the rewards 660 card,
http://www.rewards660.com/
it will halep you ALOT overtime.
trust me.
but if your talking the late 500 early 600 range,
and not alot of deliquent status' on your report,
try out chase and capital one. they have low starting credit lines, but over time again, they are great.
try checking out your credit report,.
http://www.creditreport.com
its free AND shows you your score, try taking care of some of the debt you have, more times then not, when you call up the collectors, [which thier direct numbers are listed if you go to credit report.com], they can help you arrange payment options so you dont have to pay them in full and you can get them off your credit. trust me, it'll take a little time, nothing major, but overtime you'll be happy.
good luck

Why would you need more available credit if you are clearly already in debt?
