I posed this matchup once previously, setting the distance at 12 rounds. The reason I did that was because of the still, to this day, controversy surrounding Hagler's fight with Leonard. A lot of people still believe that had that fight gone 15, Hagler would have won.

So, if he fights Jones over 15, is there a different outcome? We're talking about the Hagler that outpointed Duran, vs the Jones that did same to James Toney.

'smitty' - you jumped the gun, babe. Better to let the big picture lay itself out first, before you say something.

toughguy - nice analysis - but Hagler wasn't from Philly, babe - but from Brockton, Mass.

Good fight but I believe Hagler would knock him out in 12 rounds as he was a more rounded fighter with a much sturdier chin than Jones. I don't believe that Jones fought as high a level of competition as Hagler and Hagler was one of those no nonsense Philly fighters so regardless of Jones handspeed, Hagler wins.

Hagler and Jones fight to a draw. Jones rallies late to make it a majority draw with one judge having Hagler up 1 point on his scorecard.

My boy, I had previously deemed (edict) that all "Dream Bouts" were 15 rds plus your own statement that the last 3 rds were championship rds.

I didn't jump the gun; I am the "gun" (pistol).

As far as the bout goes, been there; done that.
