ok. my bird got out of his cage yesterday and today we found him. he was in our tree and we could not get him down. i know this might sound bad but i promise it is not. my brother had to shoot BELOW him to get him to move. he accidetily hit him. when we got him, it was just his wing that was hit. we looked at it and the only thing holding on the wing is the bone and we can see it. should we just take off the wing and put antibiotic ointment on it to heal? please let me know.

You need to take your bird to the vet. They can fix the wing. Your bird is going to have problems with it's wing later in life. Most likely it will have arthritis. This will not make the life span of your bird that much shorter, but not getting help for your bird, will.

Are you INSANE?!?? Jesus Christ, what are you thinking? A wing is a bird's arm. How would you like to have your arm twisted off and have a dab of ointment put on it?

If you're too lazy or too stupid to take the bird to a vet so it can heal, at least twist it's neck off so it can die quickly. Otherwise it will live the rest of its short pathetic life in withering pain as gangrene slowly kills it. Plus it will have to deal with you fricken morons until it succumes. Death would be a blessing.

Get to a damn vet. Now.

Bring the bird to the vet! They can fix the poor bird's wing. I'm sorry that happened, good luck and I hope the expenses aren't too much! LOL

You've GOT to be kidding?!?!?! Why is it that people want to "just put an ointment on it " when their pet's get hurt? Take the bird to your AVIAN veterinarian and have them clean and check the wing...

A vet will need to finish amputating the wing. Not you. Find an avian vet.
