A hitchhiker spirit , would in fact be a demon since God has no need for spirit other than the holy ghost. the term angel simply means messenger

There are two types of Hitchiker spirits...

One is a physical manifestation of a person that actually hitches a ride off the street and then once you take them somewhere, or begin to drive, they just vanish into thin air.

The second type usually manifest itself as a ball of energy, usually not normally visible, nearby a particular person. The hitchhiker spirit ball usually follows the person around, attracted by the spiritual or emotional energy that is output by that person. Most are benign, but some are mischevous and you could find yourself the butt of many jokes and pranks just out of the blue for no apparant reason.

I've heard of this term long ago, but my memory serves me little in respect to it.

A "hitchhiker spirit" is an entity that latches onto you for whatever reason. Could be for good, usually it's not.

As for an example, sorry, can't help you with that one other than think "poltergiest", perhaps.

Best of luck.

Are you speaking of a spirit that "catches a ride" where ever they can? That would be hitchhiking.

It is a spirit that asks for a ride to a certain destination. If you pick up the spirit, they vanish before they reach their destination. One hitch hiker spirit is known as Resurrection Mary, who appears around Resurrection cemetery in Chicago.
