It's incredibly important. IF your dog is not a show dog from prestigious parents, then there is no reason to have him unaltered. Not neutering him can increase the chances of all kinds of illnesses (deadly cancers and tumors) and make their personality worse. They can become more agressive, start marking, start howling, and get females pregnant. I'm going to link to some information on health facts and neutering facts. They only take a few minutes to read, so I highly recommend taking the time if you want a good answer to your question. Good luck to you and please make the appointment as soon as your dog is old enough! : )

Neutering a male dog eliminates his chances of contracting testicular cancer. It reduces the chances of his contracting prostate cancer (uncommon anyway, but better to be safe than sorry).
Neutering a male dog is moreso a benefit as far as behavior is concerned. A neutered male dog is calmer, easily trained, doesn't 'mark' inappropriately, doesn't roam, tends to be less aggressive, and lives longer. Also, he'll be uncapable of siring any puppies, which is a huge advantage---hey may still be able to have sex, though his interest in such will fall quickly.
So yes, it can affect the dogs' personality, but for the better. Neutering only affects hormone driven behaviors, and it doesn't eliminate them entirely, especially if the dog is already sexually mature before neutering.

Neutering does NOT change personality. Personality is waht it is from birth. A dog will be what it will be, however neutering will eliminate hormonal driven behaviors.
What your dog turns out to be depends on the personality it was born with, the parents, socializatian, enviornment and training.
As for importance of neutering..it is very important. Neutering prevents testicular cancer (you can't possibly know the scope of this illness until you've seen a beautiful 2 year old black Lab brought in with testicles the size of grapefruits with massive open sores on them and in massive pain), dramaticly reduces the risk of prostrate infections & cancers, reduces the risk of anal fistulas (abcesses) (again you can't know the scope of this until you've personally seen an 18 month old male brought in with a huge gapping hole draining pus and blood and in so much pain he can't sit or lay down, the time consuming treatment and the long ordeal of healing).
Yes neutering is important for the happiness and health of your dog.

human beings have aggravating about, requested about, and believed that dogs will benefit weight at the same time as neutered for years, even with the indisputable fact that it truly is in no way been shown to really be the reason behind weight benefit. maximum likely, the dogs's proprietor merely overfed and did not workout their dogs sufficient, and it ought to were merely as fat if it were left intact. that's a commonplace excuse human beings use to no longer neuter their male dogs. Boxers are severe power dogs. all of your brother has to do is supply him sufficient workout and the dogs is not fat. Your brother desires to artwork agility, or frizbee throw such as his dogs, or do some thing different that the dogs will love. driving a bike with the dogs connected by making use of a particular bicycle leash holder is likewise an outstanding thanks to bypass. fidgeting with the dogs... fetch... some thing that receives the dogs operating does tremendous. A fat dogs is in many circumstances the end results of a lazy proprietor. the reality is that some adult males think of their dogs respond to issues an analogous way human beings do, and subsequently mistakenly imagine the dogs will be emotonally depressed by making use of having it truly is manhood taken. it truly is bull****, yet some adult males's egoes are tied up of their dogs being intact, as if that makes the guy more advantageous of a guy if his dogs is undamaged. It received't make your brother more advantageous of a guy to have his dogs intact. It received't make him a lot less of a guy if the dogs is neutered. really, it makes him more advantageous of a guy if he acts responsibly and neuters his dogs. the benefits are: - warding off well being issues that intact dogs have - received't bypass "catting round" and get run over or shot - received't wander as a lot - is not overly aggressive (intact dogs have more advantageous tendency in this) - will nonetheless be an outstanding kinfolk mum or dad - will nonetheless have more than a number of power and male attitude i am hoping you could get your brother to neuter. There are spay/neuter clinics run in maximum places if value is a situation. close to me there's a hospital once a year the position it truly is loose. -!-

If you don't plan on breeding it is the best to get your dog neutered to prevent unwanted pets. It will not change him in any way if anything it will mellow him out. The personality stays the same. He will also be healthier and has a chance at a longer life if he is fixed, they usually won't fight with other dogs if a dog is in heat around.

I neutered my dog at age eight. It did not alter his personality at all. He was the same pain in the rear he all ways was! Neutering your pet does eliminate the chances of testicular cancer and helps cut down on the number of unwanted pets! So I think it is a good idea.

Unless you don't care about the large number of homeless puppies born every year, it's absolutely crucial to have your male dog neutered.
It may change him a little...he'll be easier to train and less aggressive. But he's likely to live longer too. All in all, it's a fair trade.

Its the best thing for your dog. It will help prevent certain types of cancers that are prevalent in neutered dogs. It makes them less aggressive especially towards other male dogs. And it usually calms them down and that sexual drive is diminished.

very important...have you ever seen those animal cops shows where in scuzzy cities they rescue all of these really sad looking dogs from stupid people who abuse and don't take care of them...?? well this is partially b/c the animal population is not kept under control b/c of people who don't neurter or spay their animals...so this is what the consequence is to not spay or neuter...also i don't think it changes their personallity, sometimes it makes male cats a little less aggressive but it depends on the animal!! good luck and please spay or neuter your animals!!
