Every time I open a document within Microsoft Word, the text (that is supposed to be showing up in a size 12 font) shows up in size 10 font, with no formatting.

Now here's the weird part: When I re-open the same document by using just the drop-down menu, it opens up absolutely fine, with my original formats and all!

I have an application called FlashPaper installed to print documents in .swf format, but I don't think it is that. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Something could have happened to your NORMAL template file. One way to fix that is re-installing microsoft word. Or if your an advanced user, you can recopy the Normal template from the CD or online.

Hi, I encountered a similar problem, it happened when I set a default, in your case the default font size is 10 for newly opened documents, to change the default just:

click Format>Font

Select the Font Tab

Change the size of the font to 12

and click Default (bottom Left)

and OK out the boxes!

Format your document and when you go to save it, press the shift when you click on "File". Then click on "Save All". This will save the formatting/template as well.
