Do yourself a timetable similar to that which you have got at school, inlude breaks, meals etc.

Set yourself realistic goals for example if you need to read two chapters of a book and make comments on it over the week then read one chapter one day and make comments read the next chapter the next day and make comments and then amalgamate and reread your comments so that they make sense.

Another good idea is to work in a reward system so that you feel that you are gaining something from doing the work as well as handing it in on time, this could be simple things like a extra five minute break or you could save up all your rewards and get something you want from your pocket money, (try and get your parents on board!!)

Chop your free time into segments. No good trying to do everything all at once-it doesn't work.
Break each hour into 5 minute slots and draw a table into which each task - say 7 tasks can be allocated 5 minutes each.
Do what you can in 5 minutes, one slot for each topic, and take a small break in between.
Then have a longer break at the end and start again.
Repeat until each task is done.
If not enough time, simply increase each slot to 7 or more minutes.
Alternatively do fewer main tasks or work harder in each slot.
Breaking each task into smaller bits is the key here:
By the Inch, It's a Cinch
By the Yard, It's Hard

Well, you could ask people you live with to help you. Or Right when you get home sit at your desk and work on homework. I've tried that method too but i decided i dont want right after school (when i am not at practice) to do homework i found it as a relaxing time for me. Maybe that's how it could/will be for you. Or Right when you get home you can shut off/hide what ever you usually do!
well hope this helps! Good Luck!

Draw timeslots for the afternoon on a sheet of paper or an excel spreadsheet. KEEP a track of how well you did and make a little competition for yourself on how well you can stick to the plan. Set a goal of say being within 20 minutes of the plan on an afternoon and when you achieve it, reward yourself. Spend a little money or arrange for your favourite food etc. Keep doing this until it becomes habit.

1) log off Yahoo Answers 2) do your homework
Actually, just get in the good habit of just attacking the homework right when you get home. My son likes to have about 45 minutes to unwind and get a snack when he first comes home from school, then he does his homework so he has the rest of his evening free.

Something that I would do when I was in school was allow myself X amount of goofing off time before I had to do my homework.

Example: I would give myself 30 mins to watch tv get a snack then I was off to do my homework.
