There's nothing like having a red imprint of a hand on your ***. I don't really know how to explain any difference in the two. I guess I'd consider slapping to be with more malice than spanking...

relies upon on the context. In a sexual way, slapping is a smooth love tap and spanking is naughty, like confusing hitting. In different circumstances, spanking has a disciplinary reason at the same time as slapping has an indignant reactive reason? i truly do not understand what i'm speaking about. yet you requested.

Slapping is a little bit harder then spanking, and if's a seexual thing spanking is always a better thing

Slapping has a rather violent connotation and since this question is posted under dating I'm thinking this isn't what you should be doing to make a good impression.
Spanking, in this context, should be at the wish of the recipient with all the guidelines set up by that person.

slap - a sharp blow or smack, esp. with the open hand or with something flat.
spank - to strike (a person, usually a child) with the open hand, a slipper, etc., esp. on the buttocks, as in punishment.
My take on it is, a slap can occur anywhere (tends to be a single strike)...a spanking tends to occur on the buttocks only, repeated strikes. A "whipping" or "beating" could be anywhere on the body, repeated strikes.
