It depends on the calorie content of what you eat, not how many times a day you eat. It takes 3500 extra calories to gain a pound or conversely 3500 calories lost to lose a pound. If you want to lose weight, eat less, move more. It really is that simple.
But you if all you are worrying about is like 5 extra pounds or a little curve over your belly don't! Not everyone in the world can have the super flat stomach that "celebrities" do and in the great scheme of things does it really matter?

It would be better to eat 5 small meals a day than to have 3 big ones with snacks. Believe it or not but the body takes a while to digest the big ones fast so of course the fat is stored longer. If you must snack, then eat veggies and fruits and don't forget to drink a lot of water. Stay away from sodas and sweets and get some exercise everyday too!

Honestly, people are supposed to ear 5-6 meals a day. Spread them out over the course of a day, and make them smaller meals. Your metabolism will speed up a little bit because of it. And if you do cardio for 30 minutes for three days a week while eating those five meals; you'll probably lose weight.

Thats fine but only eat until you are satisfied, not full or stuffed! Without exercise this will only go so far. If you are used to eating tons of junk and are trying to lose weight then you will lose some weight.
Spreading out your meals (eating 5 times per day) will help your metabolism. If you go a long time without eating it slows your metabolism because your body wants to hold on to energy because it doesn't know how long it will be before our next meal. Your body holds on to this energy by storing it (fat).
Exercise will make that go a long way but you shouldn't gain weight from those eating habbits.

Depends on WHAT you eat. You can eat 10 meals and 5 snacks and lose weight if its lettace and carrots. You can eat One meal and one snack and gain weght if its ice cream and lasagna. Eat sensibly, in order to lose weight (the only way), you must take in less calories then you burn. Regardless how many meals you eat or don't eat.

They better be SMALL meals! lol
Then, the snacks better be small.
Then of course, there's that nasty matter of exercise. Not a big deal. Just do some situps and dance around your living room for about 20-30 min. every other day, and go for a walk the alternate days.
