hard to answer this question without more details - is it habitual (meaning does it happen every day or regularly) - what kind of cord, what was the situation? What do you mean by "Beat". Here in the south at least where i live i've heard "i'm gonna get a beating tonite" like a spanking kind of thing ... My personal experience with this when i was 12 I had my dad so mad at me once he grabbed the first thing he could find (which was a wire coat hanger) and slapped me across the face with it. He was never a violent man - he just snapped and honestly, what i said was deserving of a beating big time as they call it down here but the hanger was a bit excessive but also the first thing he found - he still apologizes to this day. If it's something that's daily for you - you need to talk to a teacher or somebody and get out of that situation. Hope that helped - at least to put things into perspective if not anything else.

Anytime someone hits another person hard enough to leave a mark it is abuse. It doesn't matter what they use (cord, belt, hand, etc.). The acceptation, of course, would be sports (boxing, hockey, etc.). If you are being hit with a cord, you need to speak to a trusted adult about it. Talk to a school counselor or your County Human Services department. If you don't know how to contact these people, you can always go to the police.

Yes, it is. He can beat with a stick normally kept at home for the purpose. Also spanking is only at some parts of the body like thigh, palm, buttocks etc and not every where. Of course he can spank by bare hands too.

Avoiding it all together of course is the best anyway.

Yes, any kind of beating is abuse. Are you old enough to go out on your own and get away from him? Good luck.

I don't think it is abuse if he just "snapped" and he never did it again, but every other day or now and then, yes. go cal lthat one eight hundred number.
