I'm looking for an excellent all-day tour, preferably with lunch and a luau dinner included. I prefer recommendations based on personal experience. Also, my wife is Japanese so a bilingual tour or something like that would be a plus.
Thanks!

If you are staying in Waikiki, ALL the hotels are on an electronic activities booking system, where you book & a van/bus picks you up from your hotel.

1-day tour to do is the "Circle Island tour". There may be 1 or 2 names, but I guess everyone knows what you mean if you say "Circle Island Tour".

I did this trip on my first trip to Waikiki in 1996 & it was fun. Although the West side was a bit dull. I think it's best on a smaller van, rather than a full sized bus, but the buss may be a bit comfier. When I did the trip, we stopped for lunch (picnic) at the Turtle Bay Hilton on the North SHore - nice place for snorkeling.

Other trips include a half day Pearl Harbor trip - once was enough for me, emotional.

Yourself!!!!! When we went to Oahu, we rented a car (the rental place gives you a map) and went all around the Island. The Island is so small that you could not get lost. Trust me, I do NOT know how to read a map, But I got around the Island with no problem. The good thing is that you stop somewhere and you have as much time as you want to look around. It was great, and so much fun. And for the Luau we went to Paradise Cove. Have a great time!!!!

You can get a tour bus from any hotel on Wakiki and go sight seeing... I like going around to the blow hole (gorgeous) going around the mountain and they normally have the whole day tour set up with lunch. You don't have to do anything but pay and show up... I love going to Germaines luau.... They will pick you up at your hotel and you can also book it from hotel.. Cost about $60 a person but well worth it.... They take you to this island and put on a great hawaiian dancing show . They serve you a full course meal and then take you right back to the hotel.. I go every year and it really makes you feel like you have been to Hawaii..So enjoy yourself and ALOHA

I agree that it might be better to just rent a car and go around yourself --and book a luau separately. I would go to the polynesian cultural center on the north shore too.

have a great time.
