bigdaddy, capacitors recharge themselves faster than the next time the beat will hit. they store the energy so its not drained from the rest of your car, especially at night with your headlights. whoever gave you the idea that they are a waste of money was saddly mistaken. if anything, caps save and protect the rest of your vehicle from the higher demands of car audio amplifiers. its well worth the price of anywhere from 100-1000 dollars for the cap. would you rather take the chance without one and blow your electricals up or spend the mone, save your car, and drive at ease knowing you wont lose the necessary power for your car? i would go with the latter. and as for your question about the dhd, its not a very good capacitor and you can get much better ones for the same price, i.e rockford fosgate or fusion, make very good capicitors and can prob get you a greater farad for the price

capacitors are a verybig waste of money. goto layitlow.com and read in the car stereo section of the forums, you may have to do a search on capicitors or look thru everything. but capacitors are a band-aid fix for most electrical problems, and in some cases can actually make your electrical system weaker, i.e. if you have a big bass tone, the cap decharges, if you have another big bass tone close to the first, your cap hasnt had time to recharge and just added another load to your electrical system for the remainder of that song at least.
