Someone just told a woman requesting prayers that this is not prayer request. thechnically, they are right, but isn't it a bit immoral to take away a bit of comfort from someone who is very frightened just because of a technicality? Your thoughts?

I think rules are made to be examined. It costs nothing very often to extend an extra bit of courtesy - but sometimes it does. If that person has received already more prayer requests than can be handled, he would need to turn her down today. If next week he has not received so much, perhaps he would be inclined to break the rules.

My thought is that everyone of us is doing everything that we can to help and sometimes we just can't. It is sometimes hard to deal with that - but when a door gets closed often a window is opened. Be positive and loving about the people you meet and deal with. Put their actions in the best possible light and expect them to be just as kind and helpful as you are. That is the way to a harmonious community.

Peace!

PS - See what I mean. This woman was turned down at her church but now you have put her story up so that she can potentially receive more prayers from all around the world. I think this world is wonderful.

The rules belong to the church. God does not turn his back on anyone for any reason. Comfort comes in many ways and worrying that it is from a rule book certainly limits its effectiveness.

No, but you are free to break them nonetheless if you are willing to risk the consequences.

NO! Rules are made to be respected and followed, sadly they are all the time broken and disrespected.

I believe Jesus said "If you love Me, keep the Commandments". They are COMMANDMENTS, not SUGGESTIONS. So, the answer is "no".
