just how truthful are these doctors since their fee is paid by the insurance company,just wondering if anybody ever had a IME and the doctor actually agreed with the treating doctor

There are doctors that are paid. Some are plaintiff friendly. Some are defendant friendly. For some it may depend on who pays the most.

Even though the IME doctor is being paid, the pay is for his time in reviewing the chart. The reason the IME's are done is to eliminate bias. The IME doctor's have never seen the patient so they just examine the chart and give their medical expert opinion. Sometimes they disagree with the primary doctor's notes, but it is usually due to a particular expertise the primary doctor does not have, example the IME is a Rheumatologist that deals with arthritis conditions and the primary doc doesn't have much experience in the field of arthritis.
