What are some fun things to do with a soon to be 2 year old girl? We already do music, outdoor time, walks to the park, playing with her toys..

Blowing bubbles is always fun. Messy, but fun. But most of all, don't schedule so much into her day. She's not quite two! She needs to do a lot of exploring and find things out on her own. You'll always be there to supervise, of course, but give her a little space.

You're already doing quite a bit. Have you tried play-doh or painting? They're a little messy, but your daughter will love them. Just be sure to pick a day when you don't have anywhere to be when you do the painting. Can you visit a farm or the zoo? Those would also be good activities.

How about having her "help" you around the house? My 2-year old loves to stand on a chair at the kitchen sink and help me wash the dishes. We can take up a lot of time doing this, because she loves to fill various containers and dump them out, or take the wisk and wisk a bowl full of water. Basically if you let her stand at the sink and put in a bunch of kitchen items and let her play with the water and the soap she can be amused for quite some time.

Also, mine likes to sweep, water the plants outside, help put the groceries away. They like doing big people things in general.

She also likes to put on my shoes and carry my purse and pretend she is going "to work."

You can also play dress up. Get some hats, sunglasses, scarves, shoes, and anything else she can put on herself and let her pretend to dress like a grownup.

You can cook together. Make something simple, like cookies. Measure out the ingredients in advance and let her pour each one into a bowl. They love it when they feel like they are helping.

Just a few ideas...

I dont know if your Mom, big sis or day-care provider....

Mommy-daughter manicures/pedicures

Have her pick out a light color of nail polish. Paint her finger nails & toe nails. Then while hers dry paint yours the same colors.

or

Big Sis/Little sis play make-up time

lip gloss
light powder blush
stuff that washes out quickly & easily.. :)

If you go to Gymboree's website, you should be able to find a printable coupon to go for one of their classes. Seeing what they do there, you can get ideas for at home. They have music and art classes, which might be interesting to you.

Reading to her, (may sound boring but, you will thank yourself in the long run) how about painting? Buy non toxic paint and get some paper. I let my son do that now and he loves it!

Good Luck
