As long as the salad mix contains NO SPINACH, then it is safe to eat.

For those of you just tuning in, spinach has been linked to a nationwide outbreak of E. coli O157:H7. FDA recommends that you do NOT eat spinach until the contamination is resolved.

If you have spinach and you don't want to waste it, it is SAFE to eat COOKED spinach. Saute it in olive oil and garlic till totally cooked (not just wilted!) and serve as a tasty and nutritious side dish.

Don't use the ones with spinach right now and even though it says prewashed or ready to eat it is always a good idea to rinse it in a collender first anyways.

I hope so because I just ate one today. I think there was something else besides E-Coli in the spinach and it was just another cover up by the government. You don't plow under a huge crop like that and say that it can't be used for years if it was just E-Coli. We are all just guinea pigs!

studies of the health issues related to baged salad definitely show that the risks of bacterial exposure is greater here than if you buy lettuce/cabbage and your other salad makings whole and prepare them yourself.

Now, I do still use some prepared items... but when possible I do fresh and organic.
