Can you recommend a label program that is easy to use and install and that
has capacity to have 1000 names and can be sorted and pick out which ones to
print?

Why not use Office or another productivity suite? That way, you can maintain a database of names and include various criteria (newsletter subscribers, certain geographic areas, etc.) from which to pull the names when you want to print labels. You can then do a mail merge and merge the data into a label form and print labels. There are a couple free productivity suites available if your budget won't cover Office. There is Open Office and 602PC Suite, to name a couple. See links.

I don't do business labels but Avery is the biggest label company I know of and I know they do have software also.

Check them out. http://www.avery.com
