I have a I-94 nonimmigrant Visa for 90 days, since I want to stay more then 90 days, should I go to Mexico and come back?I live in L.A. so it would be very easy to cross the border, but is my visa going to be reissued for 90 more days?

If you want to immigrate then do it legally and through the proper channels. Then you will have no worries once you do get into the country.

I would go to the I.N.S. office in L.A. and apply for an extension before your 90 days expire. You do not need to wait until you go back to apply. It is much easier to process a current visa than to create a new one.The paperwork has already passed the system once before.

Visit www.uscis.gov
I suggest you make an apointment on line, take your visa with you and see if you can get a stamped extention, if not, you need to go back and reapply.
Don't over stay. If you ever want to immigrate for good this will come back and bite you. Any illegal time in the US is against the law.
Good luck! :)

Since you are on a tourist visa just contact the INS office and apply for a tourist visa extention...also you can contact the Mexican Consult there. Having a extention on a tourist visa is not hard to do. Just explain to the INS why your asking for a extention.

Yes by all means go home and take your cousins with you...j/k nah if you go to the emmigration office and ask for an extension tehy will probably let you know either way. Do it legally and we will have more respect for you. I hope you understand that!

Don't know, but if you go, can you stop in Ensanada and smuggle me back a box of cuban cigars? Give you gas money.

i have no idea what the answer to your question is, but i applaud you for wanting to do the right thing. and, at the same time, i apologize for the US in making this such a ridiculous exercise.

anyone who wants to be here to work should be welcome with open arms. it's the lazy ones we need to toss out.

not sure, but I would think the visa could be extended. check with them and find out for sure. no one here knows for sure.

and thanks for wanting to do it legally. belive it or not, almost ALL Americans are for legal immigration and visitation.
