I have been in the same boat as you, it is necessary you put your foot down in your mind and decide to sit at the desk after taking maybe 30 or 60 minute break once you are back from school. If its homework and needs to get done, then keep the goal of getting it done before it is due, whether this means on the day the homework is given or the next day if it can be done. From a typical time management perpective one can put a plan together and say,
7 am - 8 am -- get ready for school
9 am - 4 pm -- at school
5 pm - 7 pm -- unwind/relax/play/have fun
7 pm -- 9 pm -- homework followed by dinner or dinner followed by homework (whichever works for you)
If you dont meet those times, dont work too hard on yourself. Try aliging your thought process around keeping slots within your day. Remember its your time, your mind, your body and guess what, you can ABSOLUTELY control it - just feel the need for it.
Hope it helps, good luck

First of all, prioritize. Which things need to get done first? Homework, household chores? For homework, if you have more than one subject, there are several ways to approach it: (1) Do the easiest homework first so you have more time for the more difficult or time-consuming assignments, such as a report. The other option is to do it in reverse: Do the harder or more time consuming assignments first and then the easier ones. When I was in college a few years ago, I did the easier ones first. Make sure you take a break of like 10 minutes every hour. Hope that helps.

Well, since you know that planning homework right as you come home doesn't work, don't plan it then! :)

Maybe you should give yourself some unwinding time after you come home. Say that you come home at 2:30. Give yourself to 3:00 to change, grab a snack, say hi to mom or whomever is at home.

Then go to your room or where you do your homework, making sure that there's nothing around that can distract you, such as noise from the TV or the phone. If you have a cell phone, turn it off. Get that homework done and over with and you'll feel better!

Procrastination is a big thing for me, but I know that as soon as I finish my homework/studying, my time is free to do stuff I really want/need to do!

A good start would be spending less time on the internet which is a huge time waster. I can tell you this from my own schoolwork experiences. Maybe try writing down the tasks you need to accomplish, then cross each one off as you go to get a sense of accomplishment. You can reward yourself in a small way as each task is completed too if that motivates you. A good thing to do is to do whatever you like the least first which will give you a real sense of accomplisment and even relief upon its completion and you will probably be glad to move on to the more desireable things. Almost all of us procrastinate and sometimes we even do our best work under pressure and need to be up against the wall in order to perform. Just try not to do all of it on the school bus.
good luck.

One thing you could do is spend less time asking questions to strangers on the Internet.
