1. Why are the majority of people who think this Latino?

2. Why is it supposedly an act of a bigot to not support an illegal act?

3. I came here with my family from Mexico legally, but unlike some I was raised to assimilate and take pride in my new country, by speaking its language and working to make it better, so why do people think just because of my background I should support open borders?

4. Why do people always bring up "but this country was founded on immigrants..." yeah, that was 200 years ago when we actually needed citizens, now this country is suffering massive wage cuts, tax increases, lower standard of living, more diseases like TB, larger classrooms, and higher crime due to illegal immigration, so your outdated reference is nonsense.

5. Why do people always bring up "This country was originally blahblah's then you stole it?" Look throughout history, most major countries were stolen! Stop living in the past and get a real argument.

It is unfortunate that all people don't have the insight that you have .When one is looking for racism it can be found behind every word. But if taken in the context it was said in may only be an innocent observation.I am anti-illegal and never use racist terms to describe anyone. To me it shows not only lack of education, but lack of what my mother called breeding. The lack of education is in the use of hate filled words that the person saying them knows will cause the person they are directed to,pain.and humiliation. They are also used when the person becomes at a loss of words either thru anger or frustration.
The breeding part means your parents taught you to respect others even the ones you totally disagree with.
Once you have angered your adversary, you have the advantage or so the racist thinks. But in reality both arguments good and bad are lost in a flurry of hate laced derogatory words.
We arent going to solve the worlds problems here on this forum, its simply a dynamic to entertain dialog .Learn some ,teach some but my friends both pro and anti
remember its just thoughts and frustrations being voiced by concerned people from both sides.

I cant let you go with out this
No amnesty

properly, it extremely seems that *many* of the main vocal warring parties are certainly bigots, whilst they bypass on television and say issues like, "Our u . s . is popping brown!" "Spanish is spoken extra in many situations in California than English!" (the two expenditures from Pat Robertson). upload to that the incontrovertible fact that just about all the protests are against unlawful immigrants from Latin u . s . a . of america (while there are over 2 million *white* unlawful immigrants interior the country, envisioned) and the noise does address a racist tone. As on your #4 -- great salary cuts, tax will develop, decrease usual of residing, better school rooms, bigger crime. Hmm, properly the crime fee is actual DOWN everywhere in the US for the time of the final 10+ years. something is principally simply by Bush's financial regulations, and has no longer something to do with unlawful immigrants. Even the envisioned 12 million unlawful immigrants are nevertheless purely under 3% of the finished US inhabitants, they only don't have that great of an result on centers, faculties, or taxes. possibly you are able to desire to show your self on the data around an argument earlier spouting off on it, hmm? by the way, your loved ones's "assimilation" ethic is admirable -- even though it extremely isn't any longer the only way. it extremely is a loose u . s ., undergo in techniques? If immigrants, criminal or no longer, prefer to hold onto their language, traditions, and so on. they are completely loose to accomplish that -- that's what u . s . a . of america is all approximately. Vive l. a. distinction!

Those are some good points. Hard to argue against. Rare on this site!

I must say though, that bigotry is way deeper than this one issue, and is usually a misguided view of things from watching to much TV. The folks who want to close off America are usually way out from my views on just about anything.

Your beliefs are yours and they are your right. However, once you stop feeling compassion and empathy for the rest of the people of the world, you will become just part of the reason this country is no longer great. And if you are justifying war and murder to obtain land, just because it has been done in the past, then we are already beyond contempt, and deserve what is happening to us (See #4 in your question)

The fact is, America is on the lowest side of the world with respect to education, and more than half of America now believes in creationism over evolution. This scares me to no end. So these views are misguided at best.

There have been lots of studies that show crime is not done by imagrants, but by the people who already live here (I.E. Americans)

BTW... did you ever see the movie: "A Day Without a Mexican"?

Well few people are in favor of illegal immigration. The problem is that many people come in here using the racist words like beaners, wet....and never distinguishing between LEGAL and illegal Mexicans, and always referring to ALL Mexicans are illegal.
I'm legal, educated and spell a lot better than a lot of jacka.sses here who put down Mexicans with kindergarten insults like beaner, taco....laughable!

We need more Legal people like you. People just don't listen or want to understand anything different than what they believe in.
My grand parents on both sides came to this country from all over.
This country was founded on immigrants and still need them legally. That is what the USA is about a giant melting pot, all colors, all races, all religions living as one in peace, it is a shame some people have to rune it.

It is the only excuse they can come up with. Legal immigration is available but those who choose to come illegally, should not be allowed to stay. That thinking has nothing to do with bigotry. If you want to call it something, call it protectionism!

Illegal is illegal. They break the law. How can you be a good citizen in a country if the first thing you do in it is to break the law?

I have to follow you on your bandwagon.. My lady is from Thailand and she is legal and speaks english better then I do. She even spells better then I do and I was born here. She does not support the open borders becaue she wants to be safe not raped or killed and robbed. There is enough of that here without open borders.
