my daughter has a '96 intrepid and it's an excellent car. 3 things to look at. The inner tie rod ends tend to lose the bushing...kind of a pain but not too bad. The mounting bushings on the steering rack get worn..especially on the drivers side...pain in the *** to change. lastly the rear cradle mounting bushings get worn causing a problem with the alighnment....very easy to repair.

I have an '04 intrepid...again excellent car and have had no problems with it.

The newer models 1998 and up are very good vehicles. They do have a minor transmission problem on some of them that makes the car go into "limp mode" and its annoying . The vans are the worst with this problem

Honestly - stay away from Dodge altogther. I had it and it's a nightmare. I bought my car brand new and it STILL gave me probablems. And the Dodge dealerships are so unprofessional. Really, don't deal with American cars at all. They aren't worth the trouble.
