my Husband bathed him and got Water in his eyes, and I think that maybe what have scared him, so now as soon as he hits the water he SCREAMS, and will scream the WHOLE time until he is washed and gets out. and he is fine playing with the water until he has to get into it.

Oh bless him, he sounds so sweet. I'd suggest as others have, take a bath with him. Make it as fun as poss, loads of toys an games, don't wash his hair. Then the next time do the same, but let him was your hair an pour water on your face, laugh at it each time he does it an he'll soon see it's ok to get a wet face. Dad's eh, i remember my partner doing the same.
Good luck!

If it was because of the water in his eyes the best is that you go in the tub with him and help him to know that nothing is going to happen if the water goes to his face. My daughter felt the same way and when i took her to a pool and i show her how i went under the water she started to feel confident. Just be patient it might take a few days. Good luck

My son just turned 2 last month and he was the same way. I just set him on my lap and take out one of his favorite bath toys and we play with it for a few minutes and then I ask him if he wants to float it in the water, and most of the time he goes right in. I also give him another washcloth and tell him that his toys need a bath and they can't be in the water by themselves...that usually works.

He might think he's going to get sucked down the drain. I was afraid of it when I was little, and so was my daughter. Take him in there and sit down with him calmly, making sure he knows you're not going to put him in there. Point to the ceramic or plastic or whatever, and ask him if that part's scary. Then point to the faucet. Is that scary? Point to the drain. Is that scary? and so on and so forth. Once you figure out which part of the tub is the culprit, ask him why it's scary. If it is the drain, stand in the tub with him, and show him that neither of you is going down it. Show him the little holes and step on it, then have him step on it to see that he's not getting sucked down. If it's something else, just patiently explain how it works and show him and have him try it himself. Knowledge is power. Good luck.

Did something happen where doesn't like water ,did he choke on some water? make bath-time fun buy him some cool battery operated toys like boats and crayons that he could draw in the wall of the bathtub. wash him up and get out don't press him don't make him feel like your forcing him let him go by himself it will take time but he'll get over it . good luck he will be fine.

well the reason why oyur son is so afraid most likely of the tub is something happened to him (hit his head hurt his toe cut his finger) something that has gave him a scare and what you can do about that is get a real little pool an cokes him in to him get him used to it then oyu can move on to bigger things such as the tub......good luck

Yes, and it turned out he developed the fear because he saw the shower running and freaked out. What worked for us was these little colored bath tablets that turn the water colors (usually carried by bubble bath products) and colored foam soap. Seemed to make bathtime fun for him again and take his mind off of why it was scary to be in there.

I wonder if it would help for you to get in the tub with him. My daughter did the same thing (I don't know what triggered it) and I got in the tub with some of her favorite toys and coaxed her in. Best of luck to you!
